Request summary
Indonesia has repeatedly requested assistance to develop a national set of climate change statistics and indicators. Arrangements were initiated under the DA14 project on Resilient and Agile National Statistical Systems but could not be completed for lack of sufficient funds. The Global Set of Climate Change Statistics and Indicators was adopted at the 53rd session of the United Nations Statistical Commission in March 2022 as the framework for climate change statistics and indicators to be used by countries when preparing their own sets according to their individual concerns, priorities and resources. Based on several requests from Indonesia, UNSD is proposing to organize, in collaboration with ESCAP, a national mission including a 3-day workshop in Indonesia where the Global Set and its implementation support tools will be applied. The main goal of the mission and national workshop is to increase the technical capacity for climate change statistics in the country, by bringing the stakeholders together to provide hands-on training on priority topics related to climate change.
