The Government of Bangladesh requests continued and enhanced technical assistance to support its LDC graduation in November 2026 and the effective implementation of its Smooth Transition Strategy (STS). Priority support areas include strengthening trade negotiation capacity amid expanding bilateral and regional agreements; assessing and managing the impacts of withdrawing LDC-specific support measures (such as DFQF market access and the TRIPS waiver); and supporting environmentally and socially sustainable structural transformation beyond the RMG sector. Bangladesh also seeks an independent Graduation Readiness Assessment, to be led by OHRLLS (with possible collaboration from UNCTAD), to address domestic concerns and inform policy dialogue with the private sector, with overall support coordinated by UN DESA (CDP Secretariat) in collaboration with other relevant UN partners.
