The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development of Sierra Leone requests UN DESA’s support to advance follow-up actions under the project on strengthening national and local government capacities for SDG localization, building on the outcomes of the September 2025 workshop in Freetown. The request highlights priority needs including strengthening local capacities for SDG and Agenda 2063 implementation, supporting Voluntary Local Reviews, improving local-level data collection and monitoring systems, enhancing coordination through regional planning offices, advancing chiefdom-level planning, supporting local climate action, and strengthening resource mobilization for financing the SDGs, while noting openness to exploring alternative funding sources where activities fall outside the project scope.
