Request summary
There is a need to develop an e-learning course on integrating business and trade statistics, implementing the Handbook on Integrating Business and Trade Statistics and recommendations in the International Merchandise Trade Statistics Manual 2026 and Manual on Statistics of International Trade in Services 2026. The e-learning will enhance capacity for linking business and trade statistics in developing countries. It will strengthen national statistical systems, including the improvement of quality, relevance, and comparability of the statistics. It will focus on the conceptual and methodological framework for linking trade statistics and business statistics, including methods that potentially can assist with the integration across many domains, such as the relationship between globalization and digitalization, informal trade, environmental sustainability, well-being, and inclusivity. It will also present methods and best practices for linking business and trade statistics to social statistics for producing disaggregations by gender and based on characteristics such as ethnicity, socio-economic factors, age, and conditions of disability.
