EAPD proposed two capacity-building studies to support Rwanda, Uganda, and Tanzania as they prepare for graduation from the Least Developed Country (LDC) category—one on the implications of losing LDC-specific TRIPS flexibilities and another on how shifts in trade and development cooperation affect their transition. In response, the Rwanda Resident Coordinator’s Office expressed full support for the initiative, emphasizing the need for government consultation to align timelines and suggesting coordination with the Permanent Mission of Rwanda in New York. Marcia then sought guidance on whether this exchange should be recorded in the DESA RPTC demand repository, noting that the idea originated within DESA but had now received endorsement from the RCO, and she indicated plans to also engage with the Tanzania RCO.
