Request for a capacity-building workshop from the Global Forest Financing Facilitation Network for the development of a regional capacities for the mobilization of funding from multilateral sources for forest restoration, in the context of the wider Landscape Partnership Asia initiative advanced by AFoCo. The workshop was held 20-23 January 2026 at ESCAP in Bangkok. The workshop brought together approximately 50 participants from governments and partner organizations. Presentations were delivered by a wide range of partners, including UN entities (FAO, UNEP, UNDP and UNFFS); international financial institutions and intergovernmental organizations (World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Global Environment Facility, Green Climate Fund, ITTO and Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFOCO)); research and knowledge organizations (Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry (CIFOR–ICRAF), IUCN and Center for People and Forests (RECOFTC)); partnership initiatives (the Forest and Climate Leaders’ Partnership); and private sector stakeholders.
