The Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange (SDMX) Global Conference is a biennial event for the official statistics community worldwide to share information on recent and upcoming SDMX developments. The Global Conference brings together National Statistical Offices, Central Banks, other government statistical offices, international agencies, academia, and private sector.
The Tenth SDMX Global Conference will take place in Rome, Italy, from 29 Sep – 3 Oct 2025. The Conference includes a 3-day plenary meeting followed by a 2-day capacity building training session on SDMX. The capacity building session is organized in two tracks, one introducing easily available basic tools that facilitate the establishment of data exchange, and the other introducing more advanced tools, platforms, and topics, including advanced data management and dissemination. The training will facilitate the implementation of data and metadata exchange between UNSD and countries, in areas such as SDG indicators and others. Participants will benefit from participating in the plenary by sharing and hearing of other countries’ experience, learning of benefits brought by using SDMX tools for data management, exchange and dissemination, improving the efficiency of statistical business processes, and others.

A side event on SDMX-SDGs will take place on 28 Sep 2025. The SDMX-SDGs sub-group is mandated to facilitate the implementation of global SDMX-based data and metadata exchange of SDG indicators. Kyrgyzstan will be invited to the meeting to report on their progress with reporting and dissemination of SDG indicators and learn of the recent and further developments of the data exchange. This will enable Kyrgyzstan to expand their data and metadata exchange and dissemination of global and national SDG indicators and metadata.
