The Government of Malawi, through the Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (MITC), requested support to mobilize private financing for SDG-aligned projects and participate in the 10th SDG Investment Fair. Technical assistance was provided in 2025 to support the preparation and presentation of two projects: the Blantyre Waste-to-Energy Project and the Salima–Lilongwe Water Supply Project. TA and investment promotion support for the projects is ongoing and DESA and UNCTAD are supporting the country to present the opportunities at other global fora including the China International Fair for Investment & Trade in September in Xianmen.
