DPIDG was requested by the Latin American Federation of Cities, Municipalities, and Local Government Associations (FLACMA) to provide support to capacity building, professionalization of cadres in local governments, professionalization of local governments team, and learning between peers (city-city, networks-networks), with the aim of achieving the localization and territorial incidence of the SDGs in the Region.

FLACMA is an entity that brings together and represents the +16,400 cities of the 33 Latin American countries, with a history of 41 years working in international cooperation with the purpose of bringing solutions to Mayors, municipal governments, and local communities, and thus contribute to make possible the improvement of public services, infrastructures, and opportunities for economic and social well-being.
