The Regional Workshop on Implementing the new System of National Accounts, 2025 (2025 SNA) and Compiling Digital Supply and Use Tables is jointly organized by the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF), the Economic and Social Commission for West Asia (ESCWA) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The workshop aims to enhance participants’ capacity on a) the implementation of the System of National Accounts, 2025 (2025 SNA): overview and planning the implementation, globalization, digitalization, well-being and sustainability, and communicating transition to 2025 SNA); b) policy relevance of compiling the digital economy accounts under the new framework; and c) compilation of the Digital Supply and Use Tables under the new framework and data sources.
The workshop will increase technical capabilities to produce high quality economic statistics for the compilation of national accounts supporting data driven decision facilitating the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. Approximately 50 participants and independent experts from 22 countries and six international organizations are expected to attend this regional workshop.
The requested funds will cover the travel expenses of two resource persons from DESA and a total of four (4) participants from the National Statistics Offices of Jordan, Morocco, State of Palestine, and Tunisia.
