Families in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) face complex and interconnected challenges related to poverty, violence, education, and gender inequality. A youth bulge with over 65 per cent of the population under the age of 25, added to a lack of support for older persons and an almost inexistent access to social protection weakens their structure even further. These challenges affect the wellbeing of families in the DRC; they impact communities, the country, and in the process, they also undermine the implementation of the SDGs.
