Ecuador participated in the 9th SDG Investment Fair. DESA also supported Ecuador in early 2025 to present a portfolio of water management projects and a demonstration project for PPP investment at the 10th Fair in Sevilla. Following positive feedback received from the client, as well as initial sensitization on the "STAIRS" tool, DESA gave an initial online workshop for staff of the PPP/Strategic investment unit. However, further more hands-on capacity building planned to pilot the tool was delayed due to a change in government and resignation of Head of the division in early 2025. The remaining TA support will be provided in Q3/4 of 2025 as Ecuador is a pilot country for STAIR under the Sevilla Platform for Action initiative in partnership with SOURCE.
