Regional Workshop on Statistical Business Registers and Industrial Classifications, Amman, Jordan, 25 – 27 June 2024. Participating countries include all ESCWA member states and Djobouti.
Request summary
The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) is proposing to organize a regional workshop on statistical business registers and industrial classifications, in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics (AITRS), in Amman, Jordan on 25 – 27 June 2024.
The objectives of this regional workshop course include: 1) help participants acquire knowledge and skills on the development and use of statistical business registers (SBRs) for data production of official business statistics; and 2) introduce to the participants the relevant resources that have been produced by the United Nations Committee of Experts on Business and Trade Statistics (UNCEBTS) and other Committees with regard to SBR development, including the SBR Maturity Model, the relevant toolkit for assessment on the SBR development, and ISIC, Rev. 5 and other classifications in use in the SBR.
The total budget of this proposal is US$38,056.34, which covers the participation of two DESA/UNSD staff members, two resource persons from the UK and from the Netherlands, and 12 participants from the National Statistics Offices in the ESCWA region.
