Request summary
As part of the UN's cooperation with the Government of China, UNFPA China has agreed with the National and Development Reform Commission (NDRC) on the need to leverage the strengths of the National Transfer Account (NTA) framework to generate new evidence on how population growth and the changing population age structure might influence economic growth in China, in order to support policy dialogue and policy development with the Government of China on population ageing.
In this regard, the United Nations Resident Coordinator's Office in China requests technical assistance from the Population Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs to help develop a pool of human resources within relevant national agencies with technical capacities in using the NTA framework for policy development for China. This would entail a training workshop as a first step, and advanced training and technical support (online and in person) in line with demand. Participants at the first workshop will come from the NDRC system and a diverse range of institutions engaged in ageing studies in China.
