A request was made to revise the 2007 Law on Statistics of the Kyrgyz Republic, since this version failed to properly define key concepts and standards of modern official statistics and did not meet the requirements of the present-day statistical production system.
The request resulted in advisory missions and online communication as part of an almost 3-year process to assist the NSC in drafting a new statistical law.
On 8 July 2019, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic signed the new Law of the Kyrgyz Republic on Official Statistics as adopted by the Parliament.
