Integrated national financing frameworks (INFFs) help countries finance their national sustainable development objectives and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). More than 80 countries have embarked on the design and implementation of an INFF. Countries don’t start from scratch when designing and implementing INFFs; rather they are embedded within existing plans, structures, and processes. The scope and focus of their INFFs is as varied as their contexts, reflecting their unique needs and priorities.
About the INFF climate finance e-learning course
In today's world, addressing climate change has become integral to achieving sustainable development. This course will explore the opportunities of financing Nationally Determined Contributions and climate objectives through the application and implementation of INFFs. Drawing on the INFF global guidance materials and country examples, it will empower learners to put the theory into practice.
Over the course of five lessons, you will explore the practical application of INFFs in financing national climate goals:
- In Lesson 1, you will learn the purpose of climate financing, its policy relevance in the context of climate change and recall different building blocks of an INFF and their interrelatedness.
- In Lesson 2, you will learn about the current state of climate finance, identify the gaps and challenges, and understand how INFFs can help achieve climate goals.
- In Lesson 3, you'll learn how to apply INFF building blocks to identify, assess and prioritize various policy options for achieving climate goals, and identify key principles for effective implementation of a climate finance strategy.
- In the Knowledge Check lesson, you will assess your understanding of INFFs and climate financing through scenario-based questions.
- In the Wrap Up lesson, you will explore key lessons and practical tips.
The INFF climate finance e-learning course, “Integrated National Financing Frameworks (INFFs): Climate Finance Module," was developed by the INFF Facility, with funding from the European Union.
