The self-paced Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) has been jointly developed by the Division of Sustainable Development Goals (UN DESA/DSDG) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). It focuses on implementing science, technology, and innovation (STI) for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the country level. The course is based on an Operational Note published by UNDESA/DSDG in December 2020, which provides practical materials for STI4SDGs Roadmaps. These roadmaps aim to integrate STI strategies into national sustainable development plans. The e-learning course covers key concepts, stakeholder roles, and step-by-step guidance for creating STI for SDGs Roadmaps, drawing lessons from pilot countries. It aims to enhance the capacities of national stakeholders and mobilize global support. The project is funded by the UN Peace and Development Trust Fund.
This 1.5-minute video primer, developed as part of the UNITAR and DESA Massive Open Online Course "Develop and Implement Science, Technology and Innovation for SDGs Roadmap," provides a succinct overview. (Click this link to watch or scroll below)
