This proposal is a response to a request from the government of Guatemala (Central Bank) for technical assistance in the area of population and development: on the use of Guatemala’s National Accounts disaggregated by age (National Transfer Accounts). DESA will provide training through an in-person workshop (20-21 October 2022) to be held in Guatemala City in cooperation with UNFPA-Guatemala. The participants will include government officials and national professionals involved in national economic and fiscal forecasts. DESA will also supervise a consultant’s report on the use of National Transfer Accounts in Guatemala to be presented in a final seminar at the end of the project – organized by UNFPA-Guatemala.
