FSDO/UN DESA, in close collaboration with UNCDF Somalia, provided introductory training on sustainable infrastructure asset management (IAM) for local and national governments in Hargeisa, Somalia on 13-15 October 2022. The event was organized in close collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Public Works, Land and Housing and the Ministry of the Interior. Participants committed to design multi-year Asset Management Action Plans for their priority infrastructure asset in their respective local government and national agencies. Both central and local government officials welcomed the training and expressed demand for further technical assistance at the local and national level, IAM Training of Trainers for newly established local government training institutes and support with the design of national asset management policies and guidelines.
