Notes
The request for DESA support was broader and longer-term, entailing a more systematic engagement in the RCO/UNCT dialogue with the Government and development partners on macroeconomic issues. DESA provided analytical inputs to the macroeconomic analysis in the CCA and agreed to prepare a joint paper with RCO and ESCWA on Fostering Supply Side Dynamics of Jordanian Economy through Inclusive Fiscal Policies. DESA also provide talking points for the RC's Presentation of "Building Back Better" to the Jordan Task Force on 25 June 2020.
The RCO economist will also work with FSDO to address debt management and fiscal policy issues in the context of a DA project on the INFF managed by FSDO in collaboration with the Regional Commissions which targets several countries, including Jordan

Request summary
Support the preparation of the CCA and longer-term partnership to strengthen the UNCT capacity to engage the Government counterparts and development partners on the national macroeconomic dialogue in Jordan. The RC also requested DESA collaboration together with ESCWA in the preparation of the socio-economic impact assessment of COVID-19 that took over the preparation of the CCA.
