Request for an evaluation of the census operations using GIS
With the request of the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), UNSD hired a consultant to evaluate the current status of GIS, particularly in the context of implementation of the 2017 census. The main objective was to identify strengths and weaknesses in the implementation of the GIS in support of census activities (covering the stages for updating maps, delineating enumeration areas, household listing, and enumeration) and identify the requirements for maintaining and updating the GIS system for use after the 2017 census.
The mission by the consultant was conducted on 25 February-1 March 2018. A mission report for internal use is available.
