At the invitation of the Government of Fiji, a Scoping Mission was undertaken by UN-DESA’s Officials, Mr. Jonas Rabinovitch, Senior Advisor, Innovation and Public Service Delivery, Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) and Mr. Sainivalati S. Navoti (Sai), Chief, SIDS Unit, Division for Sustainable Development (DSDG). The Mission took place from 7 to 15 March 2020.
The objective of the Scoping Mission was for the DESA Officials to meet with representatives of key government institutions (Ministries and Departments), to discuss and identify priorities, gaps, challenges, good practices, mo-dus operandi and other aspects on how institutional arrangements in Fiji were addressing the coordination and implementation of the SDGs, the 2030 Agenda, SAMOA Pathway and other internationally agreed agendas, with the view to recommending a mechanism or a roadmap for improvement and further enhanced action.
