Capacity Development Tools

The Reference Guide contains an annotated list of capacity development resources, herein referred to as “tools”, developed by DESA or produced in collaboration with partners, along the five priority areas. These tools are aimed for use by a variety of DESA clients and partners, mainly policymakers and development practitioners in government as well as academia and civil society in developing countries.

The resources provide practical information and knowledge in the form of handbooks, manuals, case studies and on-line training materials. These have been developed drawing from DESA’s in-depth analytical and normative work, and complements DESA’s assistance delivered through specialized advisory services, training workshops, and diffusion of knowledge through expert groups and practitioners’ meetings.
